Hi everyone. Haley Black, currently in China for the World Short Course Championships, is second overall going into the semi-finals in the 50m butterfly. Top 16 go to semi-finals. Top 8 go to finals. Her time of 25.43 in the preliminaries is also a new Canadian Senior National Record. A first for her! More to come.

Morning everyone, Haley Black, is currently in Hangzhou, China ready to compete at the FINA World Short Course Championships December 11-16 as part of Team Canada. Haley swam with the club until she finished high school. She graduated this past spring from Auburn University and currently trains at the Vancouver High Performance Centre while competing under the Barracuda Swim Club banner. Hi everyone. The Aquatic Center is celebration its 20 year anniversary! So....the city is hosting a Club Appreciation Night for the Barracudas this Friday December 7 at the Aquatic Center from 5:30-7:30 pm. The entire pool will be available for all members to play and enjoy a free night at the pool. There will be draws for each group. Prizes. Games,... and cupcakes! Having said all that. The swim school practice is still a go. The D1 and Y/N groups will only be swimming 4-5:30 pm. The D3, D2C and Fitness and Development practices are cancelled for this Friday. Morning everyone. Passing along a message from the City this morning. They have encountered a glitch in their system for those who have 10 visit pass/LAP pass card along with thier club cards. Until further notice DO NOT swipe into club practices until this is resolved. They can continue to use their 10 visit pass outside of regular practices. Also, if you have not picked up your club pass cards, please see the front desk at the Aquatic Centre. Cheers, Jason

Morning everyone. Some information to pass on regarding the upcoming swim meet this weekend; including practice cancellations. Practices for all groups on Friday and Saturday are cancelled. Monday morning practices for Elite and Y/N are also cancelled. Jerzy and I will be setting up for the meet starting at noon on Friday. If you are able to help out that would be greatly appreciated. We are looking for four or five people. For those of you who are new to attending swim meets and have any questions after reading this email, let me know. Under the Parents tab on the website is a very good "What To Do' list at a swim meet. Our club will be situated at the deep end of the pool. Barracuda t-shirt and caps are mandatory for the weekend. If you are in need of an extra cap, speak with Kris Lewington equipment@pgbsc.org. If you are in need of an extra set of goggles either Stride and Glide or the store at the Aquatic Centre can help you. Remember you get a discount with your card at Stride and Glide! It is also wise to bring a hoodie or sweater plus track pants or shorts as well as sandals. Warm up and start times. Please be on deck 20 minutes prior to the beginning of warm ups Friday warm ups 4:30-5:30pm Racing starts at 5:40pm to approx 7:30pm Saturday warm ups 8:00-9:00am Racing starts at 9:10am to approx 3pm Sunday warm ups 8:00-9:00am Racing starts at 9:10am to approx 2:30pm Awards 1:40pm - 2:00pm approx Again, if you have any questions, let me know.
